What Are Eyelash Extensions? Lash Extensions are synthetic strands that are made to replicate a natural eyelash. When applied, Eyelash Extensions lengthens and thickens your own natural eyelashes. Single strands are applied to each individual eyelash, one by one. With proper application, lash extensions look and feel completely natural.

How long will a set of Eyelash Extensions last? When applied by a professional, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes, usually between 4 and 8 weeks. Depending on your activity and day-to-day routine, fills should only be required every 2 to 4 weeks.

How often should I get fill? We recommend getting a touch up every 2 to 4 weeks. A refill is needed to fill in any lashes that have fallen due to the natural cycle of your own lashes. Refills average about 60-90 minutes.

Will lash extensions damage my natural lashes? No. When properly applied eyelash extensions will not damage natural lashes. They are actually kinder to your lashes than a lash curler and regular mascara that can dry out lashes and cause them to break.

Can I apply mascara to Eyelash Extensions? Mascara is not really required since the extensions actually give the illusion of wearing mascara. In fact, one of the many benefits of eyelash extensions is that you do not need to use mascara. If you must apply mascara, however, only use water-based mascara. DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATER-PROOF MASCARA as they can dissolve the bonding agent used and they can shorten the life of your eyelash extensions. Use care when washing off the water-based mascara and only use a water based eye makeup remover.

Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing Eyelash Extensions? Yes. The bonding agent used to apply you eyelash extensions is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise etc. How soon can I wash my face after the extensions are applied? We recommend that you do not wash your eye area for about 24- 48 hours after the eyelash application. A special waterproof bonding agent is used. Glue does not contain any fumes or irritants and is long lasting.

How do I take care of my new Eyelash Extensions?

Do not get lashes wet for the first 24- 48 hours

Avoid hot steam or sauna

For longer lasting lashes, limit the use of running water directly on your lashes

Avoid rubbing your eyes excessively

Use water based eye makeup remover

Do not use an eyelash curler

Do not pull on your lashes

How long will it take to Apply Eyelash Extensions and how is it done?  The application process for lash extensions normally takes anywhere from 2 to 2 1/2 hours. You will lay comfortably on a massage table with your eyes closed while the professional technician applies your lash extensions to your upper lashes one at a time. Your lower lashes will be covered.

How do I choose the look I want? Eyelash extensions are available in a number of lengths and thickness. Your technician will consult with you to understand what type of style you are interested in. The overall look of the lashes is very natural.

Do I have to do anything to prepare for the service? You should thoroughly clean your lashes with a mild cleanser. Do not use oily makeup remover to clean your lashes prior to the application. Lashes should not be curled and all mascara should be removed.

I wear contacts. Can I still get lash extensions? Yes! Since lash extensions do not touch your skin, they do not conflict or interfere with your contacts or normal daily activities.

What is sugaring? Sugaring hair removal, is an ancient middle-eastern practice that uses an all-natural paste made from food-derived ingredients to remove the hair follicle from the root. The paste, used at body temperature, is applied first in the opposite direction of hair growth using the hands. It's then flicked off in the in the direction of hair growth removing the hair.

Why should I sugar instead of wax? Sugar paste is completely natural, made of only sugar, water, and lemon juice.  Since sugar dissolves in water, the sugar paste cannot stick to live skin cells. It will only remove dead skin cells, leaving the skin less red and irritated than from waxing. This also means that clients can leave clean without any sticky residue.

There is less breakage of the hair. Therefore, there’s less chance of ingrown hairs. Sugar is applied in the opposite direction of hair growth allowing it to melt into the hair follicle and then be flicked off in the direction of growth so that the hair can easily slide out of the follicle.

Hair only needs to be about 1/8” long to be removed.  This is usually about 1-2 weeks’ worth of growth for most people. Compared to wax which needs to be at least ¼” long before being removed.

The paste works at body temperature, meaning there is no risk of burning.

Sugaring is completely sanitary. There is no double dipping in the pot. Sugar also does not breed bacteria like wax does.

Will it hurt? Okay, it's still pulling out hair from the root, but most people find it less painful than waxing. Sugaring doesn't adhere to the skin like wax, which means less irritation. The upper lip, chest, bikini and genital areas rank as the highest pain offenders. The discomfort is less because hair is removed in the natural direction of its growth (as opposed to waxing, which removes hair against hair growth).

When should I avoid sugaring? If you currently have an infectious or contagious disease. If you are currently taking any type of steroid such as prednisone. If you are currently or have taken Accutane in the past 6 months. If you are currently using Retinols such as Retin A, Renova, Differin, Tretinoin, etc. we cannot sugar the area in which you are using such medications but might be able to sugar other areas.

How should I prepare for my treatment? Do not expose the area to be sugared to sun for 24 hours prior to your appointment. Ensure that the area to be sugared is clean of any excess oils, lotion, deodorant, perfumes, etc. Between treatments keep your skin exfoliated and hydrated.  Never use a razor, tweezers, or depilatory creams. If you are pain sensitive you may take Tylenol or ibuprofen 30 minutes prior to your appointment.

How often will I need to be sugared? Typically you can go 4-5 weeks between treatments.  It really does vary on each individuals hair growth patterns and which body part is being treated.  Your esthetician will discuss with you what might be best for your individual needs. We do offer maintenance prices for several of our treatments if you return within five weeks or less.

Do I need to do anything specific after sugaring? For 12-24 hours after the service avoid touching, exercising, baths, hot tubs, and tanning. Showering is okay. After the first 48 hours, exfoliate every 2-3 days to prevent ingrown hairs.  Moisturize your skin every day. Do not shave or tweeze between appointments
